Strong earthquake of magnitude 7.3 reported between Cuba and Jamaica

A strong earthquake was generated this Tuesday, between Cuba and Jamaica. According to preliminary information from the Geological Survey of the United States (USGS), the telluric movement had a magnitude of 7.7 degrees on the Richter scale and had a depth of 10 kilometers, the earthquake occurred at approximately 14H23 (local time ), specifically, about 125 kilometers northeast of Jamaica.

For its part, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said there is a tsunami warning in the area.

According to citizens who shared videos of the moment on social networks, it lasted between 30 and 40 seconds.

So far, no personal damages or alteration to basic services are reported after the strong earthquake.

However, the authorities say that we must be alert to any telluric movement of this type in Puerto Rico.
